A&O Update
Here is a brief update on what is going on with the A&O Life criminal defendants:
- Adley Abdulwahab: trial set for June 7, 2011
- Christian Almendinger: sentencing August 12, 2011
- Brent Oncale, Russell Mackert, Eric Kurz, Tommy Browseth: sentencing July 22, 2011
I can't imagine Wahab actually going to trial. But I hope that he does, since a conviction at trial may carry a longer sentence than a guilty plea.
So when should we start filing our civil suits, after sentencing, after bankruptcy or does it matter?
Check this out: Apparently Allmendinger is stuck in jail pending his sentencing in August. Hooray! On to the next one, in the morning!

This is my former son-in-law and I am happy to say former. The sad thing is my daughter and Adley have 2 children together, who are also victims. I just pray he or his family never have any claim to them again. His family knew he was trying to run with them and stood by and did nothing. The courts didn't sever his rights until the day he was arrested. They were being brain washed by him and his family to believe he was innocent. No child wants to think a parent could do these things, that a parent could be that evil.
I feel very sorry for those children...I agree, no child wants to think the worst of their parent. As for Wahab, he deserves everything he gets, along with the rest of these criminals.
I feel very sorry for the children of these criminals, but not for a second do I believe that the wives or former wives of these criminals are so innocent. To say they were brain washed is a cope out. The spouses either participated and knew what was going on or rather looked the other way and enjoyed an extravagant lifestyle of vacations, homes, cars and jewelry. Now that the lifestyle has been taking away from the spouses are claiming they were "brain washed". Yea right.
Justice For All - I am the FORMER wife and mother of Adley's two children. How dare you write that I am not innocent. You are obviously unaware and or misinformed about myself, so therefore i'll give you a little insite. Adley and I seperated back in November of 1998. It took nearly 3 years for a final divorce due to him simply not showing up for court hearings and taking our son and hiding him out with friends of his family. It was an extremely horrifying ordeal, and to make matters worse his family was behind it. Adley was given supervised visitation after and a wonderful judge in Houston had him arrested and granted my divorce. Throughout the last 13 years, Adley has paid maybe $10,000 total in child support. Not much given the fact that my new husband and I have spent nearly $30,000 fighting him and his high priced attorneys over MY children. I mearly wanted the protection of the courts to hold his passport. I feared everyday that he would up and leave with my children.I knew from the past that he was more then capable of fleeing. Adley has cost my husband and I more money then he has ever paid to me or my children.I've never reaped any reward or benefit from the millions Adley had stolen from you and other investors. As for the wives... I'd rather not vocalize my presumptions. I don't know any of them except for Adley's new wife Sarah. I don't believe Adley "brain washed" Sarah. However, Adley is the master of munipulation and I believe he manipulated her in every way possible. We have all seen his tactics! I would not be astounded if she feared Adley or his family, I know did.
The jury came back. Guilty on all accounts! The jury deliberated for 2 hours and he will be sentenced on August 11, 2011. Although, that could change.
I understand “justice for all” frustration with the system. I would exclude Adley’s first wife. Sarah should have been serving time with her “cover-up” role in the W Financial FRAUD. There’s little doubt that she must have known something was up with A&O as well. The other wives who have escaped justice are more difficult to swallow. They all apparently had positions at A&O and had to “resign” those positions per Mr. Mackert’s FRAUDULENT sale agreement. The very minimum should be financial penalty to those wives who enjoyed the extravagant lifestyle at the expense of investors. It’s frustrating for the REAL investors. Many of the salespeople LIED that they were accredited investors and expect to share in the Trustee’s recovery. That doesn’t sit well with me and the other real investors. The investors don’t know all the personal lives of these CONVICTED thieves. By the way, has anyone seen that Dr. Kamen? I think he fell off the face of the earth. I think Sandy might be right….I’m going to breathe!
Do you think Wahab will appeal? or is this the end of the road for him?
I think Brent will get less than 2 years or maybe house arrest

He is going to get 10 years. The prosecution stated it would consider less because he provided them with so much information, but in the end decided to ask the judge for no less than 120 months. There is no reason to think that it won't be granted. Considering that Allmendinger and Wahab will probably be going to prison for 25 years or more, it's still a good deal.
The max is 5 yrs per count. He cut early deal and walked the feds right in for the kill. He will get 24 months and 10 yrs probation
I just want to know when the bankruptcy case is going to be finalized. All the criminal prosecutions are fine and good, and deserved, but we as investors should be more concerned with the disposition of the bankruptcy filings. Mr. Marwil's website continues to be updated periodically, but it's hard to interpret where we all stand. Every so often I rattle their cage, and get a phone call from one of his staff.
