As Anderson reported last week, on Valentine’s Day the Mississippi Supreme Court showed some love for Hinds Circuit Judge Tommie Green. The Court reversed a 2011 Court of Appeals decision and reinstated Judge Green’s $500,000 bench verdict in a medical malpractice case against the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Here is the Supreme Court’s opinion. Justice Dickinson wrote the Court’s unanimous opinion. Newly elected Justice Coleman participated in the decision, which I believe is his first vote in a civil case.
