Next week promises to be one of the slowest legal weeks of the year in Mississippi with the annual bar convention and summer school CLE program scheduled for Destin.
The convention is a great opportunity for lawyers and judges who get along with other lawyers and judges to get together in a god-forsaken-hot climate.
A bit of advice for rookie lawyers who are new to the convention scene. Assume that anyone in Destin who you don’t know is a judge.
That lady two pool chairs over? She might be a judge, so watch what you say.
Those “old guys” holding up play on the golf course? They might all be judges–hit into their group at your own risk.
The Bar Convention can be fun, but it is decidedly not a time to let your hair down and get your freak on.
