About Philip Thomas

Philip Thomas is a Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He represents clients in lawsuits throughout Mississippi. Philip began practicing law in 1993 and is a former associate and shareholder of Baker Donelson Bearman and Caldwell, which is one of the 100 largest law firms in the nation. For nine years Philip's practice focused on defending large corporations and insurance companies. Philip has tried numerous complex cases to verdict in state and federal court for both plaintiffs and defendants. In state court in Mississippi he has tried cases to verdict in the circuit courts of the following counties: Harrison; Hinds (First Judicial District, Jackson); Jackson; Jasper (First Judicial District, Paulding); Jasper (Second Judicial District, Bay Springs); Rankin, Union and Warren. In federal court he has tried cases to vedict in Jackson, Oxford and Natchez.

Philip has obtained a $1.9 million verdict for his clients in a nursing home case in Hinds County, a $1.5 million verdict for his client in a medical malpractice case in Harrison County and a $800,000 verdict for his client in a medical malpractice case in Hinds County. He also obtained major defense verdicts for his clients in life insurance sales fraud cases in Hinds County, Jasper County and Union County.
