On April 11 a Jones County jury awarded $0 in damages in an admitted liability case in Livingston v. Miss. Power CoHere is the verdict form. The trial lasted 3 days.

The case involved a 2004 auto accident in Jones County. Tina Livingston had multiple back and neck surgeries that she claimed were related to the accident. However, Ms. Livingston did not complain to a doctor until 2 1/2 years after the accident.

Miss. Power admitted liability before trial and argued that Livingston suffered no damages related to the accident. The jury agreed.

Plaintiffs’ counsel were Gene Tullos of Raleigh and Wayne Easterling of Hattiesburg.

Defense counsel were Dick Yoder and Lew Yoder from Gilchrist Sumrall Yoder & Boone in Laurel and Mark Alexander from Balch & Bingham’s Gulfport office.

Judge Billy Joe Landrum presided in the case.
