On Monday U.S. District Judge Carlton Reeves entered a judgment of $1,903,961 in Chickaway v. U.S. The case involved allegations of medical malpractice against Choctaw Health Center, a tribally operated facility that is deemed part of the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services. The case involved the death of a twelve year old boy from sepsis.
